An environmental consultant

As a sector environmental consultant is an extremely broad term. This breadth is replicated when it comes to the kind of products consultants use OSmaps-online / Stanfords for. Indeed, taking this a step further, we believe that this sector in particular might yet unearth significant new uses for geographical information.

In general terms, our customers use our products to underpin some of their own core services to clients such as commercial property owners and developers, financial institutions, managing agents and the public sector. These services include environmental planning, landscape planning, landscape design, urban design. Assessments of risk, or potential v constraint, are key areas here and many consultants use height products such as Ordnance Survey 10k Landplan in TIFF format and 5m Digital Terrain data. Most customers also require OS dxf data to allow overlay of the height information on to large-scale mapping.

OSmaps-online / Stanfords have also recently become an agent for Groundsure allowing us to provide their environmental reports direct. In time we will make the Groundsure data available as separate layers through our Stanfords GeoStore tool thus allowing users to select specific elements of the report in data format as required.
