A civil engineer

Our customers include some of the largest civil engineering companies in the country. Their core activities centre on the development and operation of infrastructures required to meet the needs of local communities.

Key services include strategic consulting, planning, engineering, and program and construction management services. The biggest users of our products at present tend to be consultants working in the transportation sector but we also have a number of customers involved in power (especially wind-generated), buildings/facilities, water/wastewater, environmental, and urban/community development.

Almost exclusively civil engineers require OS 1:1250 scale dxf data for use in CAD/Microstation/Vectorworks e.t.c. This is a vector data format that enables users to extract and/or add layers of information before outputting final drawings. Some users (traffic consultants in particular) have also found value in the less detailed OS 1:10k Landplan data in TIFF format especially when they are dealing with feasibility studies covering large areas. Aerial photography data is sometimes used to provide a contextual layer behind the OS base mapping.

Consultants working on projects within major UK cities may also find value in our highly accurate (+/- 15cm) 1m LiDAR height data especially if they require 3D modelling.

Orders can be placed online or direct from your desktop through our Desktop mapping and Stanfords GeoStore services.
